  • The company was founded on August 18, 1997 by two Oracle database administrators; Jack Gao and Cindy Zhao. Jack and Cindy have extensive experience working with SQL Server, Oracle databases, SQL, and applications in Windows and UNIX environments. Jack and Cindy have worked as SQL Server and Oracle database programmers and database administrators for the Coopers & Lybrand, KPMG, and Oracle Corporation. In the spring of 1997, Jack and Cindy wrote their first book, Teach Yourself SQL in 21 Days. They also developed a database management curriculum at Dallas University that consisted of one introductory class that quickly grew into a selection of about 20 courses from introductory to advanced.

Toward the fall of 1997, there was rumbling under the surface for many information technology departments. There was suddenly an increased awareness of databases and a driving demand for experienced database professionals, particularly Oracle database administrators (DBAs). Near the end of 1997, the company's training program had already begun to explode and the company was working on a deal with the States of New Jersy that would give Netstar Systems the responsibility of managing States' enterprise Oracle databases and UNIX systems.

With moderate growth, Netstar Systems hired its first employee in the spring of 1998, Paul Milson. Shortly thereafter, Paul was offered a partnership with the company for his strong technical skills, communication skills, customer service ability, and leadership qualities. With a three-man leadership team, Perpetual Technologies was poised to grow and become a prominent competitor in the database marketplace.

In recent years, Netstar Systems has continued to focus on providing superior IT support to DoD, while proliferating the same level of service to the private sector and other government clients. Netstar Systems currently provides remote and onsite IT support for Government locations worldwide and commercial organizations from the East coast to the West coast. In the private sector, the company has specialized in onsite/remote information systems management and support (primarily Oracle/UNIX and SQL Server). Today, the company has more than 40 full-time and part time employees, and has strategically aligned itself with other top-notch firms that effectively supplement the support Netstar Systems is able to offer its clients.

In 2004, Netstar Systems was designated as the 5th fastest growing privately held company in the DFW area by the Dallas Business Journal (DBJ). Thanks to the trust of its clients and loyal support of the company's employees, the company's President was named as a finalist in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year program in 2004 for Texas's technology category.

Netstar Systems has truly been fortunate in its young leaders' ability to take a startup IT company to a true level of long-term success, but only through the combined efforts of its loyal and proficient team. After 8 years of success, the driving motivation of the company has not changed; and that is to stand above all others when it comes to providing information technology service while providing the same level of dedication and service to its employees.
